Our food programs are designed to address affordable access to health food and dedicated to tackling the pressing issue of food insecurity within the underserved community of ZIP code 33435, as well as. additional communities in South PBC. This area has the highest rate of senior poverty and the lowest SNAP access in Palm Beach County, impacting 352 seniors aged 70 to 101 who face significant challenges. An alarming 75% live alone, 65% lack transportation, and 40% have disabilities often balancing caregiving duties while coping with trauma and chronic illness. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated thier isolation and anxiety. Post-Covid inflation has far outpaced the cost-of-living benefits for seniors on fixed income. Our mission to provide essential resources have never been more crutial.
Social Activities & Events Designed to Address Health Issues Related to Isolation
The Aging in Place Program tackles health issues related to isolation through a comprehensive care system that emphasizes nutrition education, mental and physical well-being, and access to community resources. The program offers reliable and effective resources, including assistance with end-of-life planning. Our Elder Care Team fosters meaningful connections every step of the way, including hospital visits to funeral arrangements, ensuring compassionate and respectful care. see more
